Today I found that I need to find files of certain types within a directory structure. there are many kinds of files in my structure, but I only need to find the mp3, mp4, and file with the number 384 in the name. Here's how it did it:
> find . -type f | egrep "mp3|mp4|384"
This will find all files in the local dir structure and filter the output printing only the files that contain one of the strings in my egrep expression.
this is a nice easy way to find files of different types or names in one command.
